The Iceman uses the same center pivot riser technology used in the Bowtech line of bows. The center pivot Bowtech bows are all binary cam bows, the Iceman is a single cam bow. Another feature the Iceman shares with bows from the Bowtech line is a rotating module for draw length adjustment. Draw length can be set from 24 - 30 inches in half inch increments all without the aid of a bow press!
Center pivot riser Bowtech bows are known for being extremely quiet and shock free, the Diamond Iceman is the same. When we received our 2009 Diamond Iceman test bow several staff members shot it and the 2009 Bowtech Admiral side by side in a direct comparison. The verdict was there was no difference in shot smoothness between these bows.
For 2010 the Iceman has been updated with the new FLX (flex) cable guard. The FLX guard uses cable rollers at the end of a heavy flat spring. The spring allows the rollers containing the cables to flex inward during the draw cycle to relieve torque on the riser but then spring sideways out of the way of the arrow during the shot. The result is a very forgiving bow.
