The Mathews Switchback was introduced in 2005. It quickly became one of the most popular Mathews bows of all time due to its speed, quietness, smooth draw cycle, and shock free release. An axle to axle length of 33 inches and a mass weight of 4.34 lbs seemed to hit the "sweet spot" of bow size for many archers which also increased it's appeal.
